while i’m not crazy about the extent we consume during the holidays, i like pretty things as much as the next girl. i also like supporting small businesses. though, at the end of the day, the holidays are about giving and spending time with people you love doing things that you love. these things, in and of themselves, may not bring you happiness. however, what they allow you to do, just might.

i often see rae dunn’s line of ceramics at a housewares store near us. but, truly, i would love one of her handmade pitchers. or the salt pig.

Having a shop, but also not wanting to overconsume or encourage others to do so is a tough balance. But I try to come to terms with thoughtful consumption, small splurges, meaningful luxuries.
